Get ready for a fun-filled adventure at Stump Cross Caverns! This FREE Discovery Day is perfect for families and young explorers who are fascinated by crystals, space, and the wonders hidden beneath the earth.
This is a special social media content event, so by booking your space, you confirm that you and all ticket holders in your group are happy to be photographed or filmed for our promotional content.
Event Itinerary:
10:30 – 11:30 AM | Crystal Event with the Cavewomen
Kick off your day with an interactive session dedicated entirely to crystals. Families will:

Learn how crystals are formed, discover the types found in our caves, and explore varieties from around the world.

Take part in two hands-on activities: making their own crystal, and the Crystal Dig, where children can fill a bag of crystals to take home, complete with an identification card.

Witness a geode cracking demonstration.
11:30 AM – 12:00 PM | Geode Cracking in the Geode Shack
Head to our Geode Shack for an exciting demonstration. Watch unbroken geodes to be cracked open right before your eyes, revealing dazzling crystals hidden inside for millions of years.
12:00 – 12:45 PM | Lunch Break
Enjoy a break and refuel — families can purchase lunch from our café.
1:00 – 2:00 PM | Space Event
Finish your adventure with our engaging Space Event, usually part of our Dark Skies winter season. This family-friendly session includes:

Learning about the solar system and stargazing.

Crafting your own planets and creating constellations to take home.
This event is free to attend, but spaces are limited to just 18 people — booking is essential. If you book but are unable to attend, please let us know so we can offer your place to another family.
