Dark Skies

Join us on Friday 7th November & Friday 21st November 2025 for 'A night with the Stars at Stump Cross Caverns'

7 November

Join us for a special night with the Solar System.  A big moon will cast its magical light on the landscape and we'll have our telescopes ready to reveal its mountains and craters.  Plus we'll share rare views of Saturn with its elusive rings and watch as the mighty planet of Jupiter rises in the east!  Not to be missed.

21 November

For our second stargazing event of the month we have chosen a super dark night with the moon absent.  That means more stars come out to play!   We'll hunt for the Milky Way, visit amazing constellations, call in at the planets, and may even see a few shooting stars.  Powerful telescopes will be ready to share the views.

Even if the weather doesn't co-operate we promise you indoor action with a beginner's introduction to the heavens in our comfortable cinema room.

This event is perfect for novices including adults and children over six years old.  Our experienced and friendly astronomer for each night will be Richard Darn. Each ticket includes a UV cave tour.

The event will start at 7:15pm prompt in our cinema room and lasts for around 2 hours.

Please arrive at 5:30pm for your UV cave tour before the event, or you are welcome to do this after the stargazing if you wish.

The Time Cafe will be open for hot and cold drinks and light refreshments for the duration of your visit.
